Teessaurus Park, Middlesbrough
Located around half a mile from the Tees Transporter Bridge is the Teessaurus Park, a 10 acre site which contains a variety of metal dinosaur models. They are definitely worthy of inclusion into the album as two of the photos were taken on 4th September 1992, the day I first started taking slide photos, so the park holds a special memory for me. That, and the fact that they are dinosaurs, which, as we all know, are just awesome anyway. From a photographic perspective, they make for a really imposing subject.
The park is located on the former Ironmasters districts of Middlesbrough, and is therefore a real piece of Teesside heritage and history and is well worth a visit if you are in the area; of course, you can do what I did in 1992 and visit both the park and the Transporter Bridge on the same day.

Then and now, the same dino, almost 32 years between these photos! I think this beast has aged well. Now sporting coloured scales, which add a touch of brightness.

The park is located on the edge of the River Tees, in a very heavily industrialised part of Teesside, as seen here.

I wonder if a distant relative to this bluey roamed these lands 66 million years ago; or indeed if the land in this area even existed on Planet Earth at this time!

Family outing; the turquoise dino on the right is the same one as per the first photograph on this page, that I took back in 1992.

An interloper, as wooly mammoths didn’t live amongst dinosaurs, but with those tusks I don’t think anyone is going to take issue with this one being in the park!

One of the dinos in the park back in 1992; today, it is still in the park having received a new paintjob, so a bit like us receiving cosmetic enhancements! You can see what it looks like further down this page.
